Servant Leadership Residency

MENTORING DISCIPLES Planting churches SENDING LEADERS

As he passed alongside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, Simon’s brother, casting a net into the sea—for they were fishermen. “Follow me,” Jesus told them, “and I will make you fish for people.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him. Going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat putting their nets in order. Immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him. Mark 1:16-20 CSB

Our twelve-month Leadership Residency is designed to equip disciples, train intercessors and church planters, mentor aspiring pastoral leaders, evangelists, minstrels and psalmists for service in God's house. Residents experience a year devoted to Christ in worship, prayer, study of scripture and hands on volunteer service as a church planting team under the guidance of Pastor David and Carolyn Hamer, and other godly leaders. In pursuit of God's high calling these disciples will mature in spiritual wisdom, godliness and competence in the disciplines, skills and gifts related to their calling. Our residency serves as a bridge between studying for ministry and a life of service as part of a ministry team. Some residents will remain in WNY to serve the church they helped plant while others will return to strengthen the churches they came from or follow the Lord of the Harvest to serve Him in whatever field or vineyard, He calls them to labor in.

There is no tuition or charge to residents. Pastor David and Carolyn are offering a living legacy gift of spiritual wealth, accrued thru fifty years of service in God's Kingdom, to a few God hungry disciples each year. Secondarily, residents will develop employable skills in hospitality services, hotel management, culinary arts, marketing, landscaping, property maintenance or building trades as part time employees of River Spring Lodge. Residents will work twelve hours weekly at the hotel in exchange for room and board. For each additional hour worked they will earn wages to provide for essential personal needs. We are prepared to accept up to eight young men and four young women each year. Priority will be given to applicants who have graduated from bible school or college. But applications will be accepted from those with a high school diploma or GED who have been faithfully attending and serving in their local church. Married couples are also welcome to apply. All candidates must have the approval of and a recommendation from their pastor. If you are interested call Carolyn @ 585.708.4212 to reserve a time to call and visit with Pastor David.
