After a successful career at private clubs as an Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director, Carolyn and I went to the JH Ranch in Etna, California, then the Kennecott Glacier Lodge in Alaska and the Monhegan Island Inn ten miles off the coast of Maine. We returned to Alaska to serve guests from around the world at a corporately owned fishing lodge. Then we had the privilege of serving sportsmen for many years at upland hunting lodges and corporate retreats including four years at Pheasant Crest Lodge in Kimball, South Dakota and four years at Deer Creek Lodge in Sebree, Kentucky.
Deer Creek was a recipient of the coveted Orvis Wing Shooting Lodge of the Year Award. One year before purchasing River Spring Lodge, Carolyn and I served the hunters at the Timbers at Chama in New Mexico which is an amazing elk lodge in the Rocky Mountains at 7800 feet.
Now Carolyn and I are taking our years of sporting lodge experience to offer the best fishing and game adventures in Western New York. We have opened the Sportsmen Suite at River Spring Lodge which is a completely private space for hunters and fishermen. We are partnering with Vince Tobia of Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters for steelhead fishing trips and Josh Ballard of Double J Outfitters for Whitetail and Turkey Hunts. Ringnecks on Broadway is just ten minutes from the lodge. They will guide our Pheasant hunts. These are the best field and stream outfitters in all of Western New York. Coupled with warm hospitality and culinary skills we are providing exceptional hunting and fishing experiences at a first class lodge. The Sportsmen Suite has four bedrooms, two full baths and two half baths, a TV room with a 55” inch flat screen, a living room and a game/mud room with a gun safe, poker table and darts. Our hunts and fishing packages are all-inclusive with hearty meals, beer and soft drinks. Crated hunting dogs are welcome in the Sportsmen Suite. Upgraded Luxury Wing packages are also available.
