Friday November 22, 2019 Canadian Folk Duo The Young Novelists

I am very excited about Graydon and his wife performing in our space. Laura’s voice is captivating and their harmonies are beautiful. I want to hear the stories that inspired their songs and the bowed glockenspiel and other unique instruments they play. Perhaps we will hear something from the baby grand piano. This is going to be a great evening of music. I hope you will be able to join us. David

The Young Novelists are a husband and wife folk duo from Toronto. They create contemporary folk songs that marry their effortless harmonies with poetic lyrics and exquisitely crafted hooks. They have toured across Canada, the United States, and in Europe. Their signature show features confessional storytelling about their songs and travels, singalongs, and the unique sound of a bowed glockenspiel.

Tuesday December 3, 2019 An Acoustic Rock Performance by Recording Artist Jim Drew

I can hardly wait for this concert. As I am posting this event on the website Jim is recording tracks for his next album in Nashville with Phil Keaggy, Will McFarland and other members of the Blues Counsel. Hopefully Jim will share a few cuts with us during this performance. Jim is an incredible guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and music producer. More importantly, he is an incredible human being. He is a loyal friend and a fatherly mentor to aspiring singers, musicians and songwriters. Jim is in the process of moving His recording studio to River Spring to serve the growing network of artists that are finding each other and connecting at this beautiful inn and listening room. David

“Many singer-songwriters show supreme strength in a singular sound. On the other hand, Jim Drew’s talents are seemingly inexhaustible. He has garnered critical recognition as a talent manager, producer, and originator of what his website calls “pizza rock” — a filling phonic pie “topped with just about everything in the house. Some of it’s hot, some sweet, some spicy, some cheesy, but it’s all delicious.” Drew started his sonic sojourn as a toddler by singing in choirs, performing in musicals, and playing in bands with friends. His dedication to his craft has led to seven solo albums that showcase his eclectic and intriguing style.”   Rochester City Newspaper

December 9th and December 23rd The Sacred Hymns and Worship Music of David Hamer

Please join us for very special evenings of intimate worship. With my autoharp and the accompaniment of a few musician friends I will sing some of the hymns, psalms and spiritual songs that will be featured on my fourth album entitled “Blood Red Ruby”. This 2020 release will be the first in a series of worship albums recorded at River Spring and produced by Jim Drew on the Music for Missions Label. When the Lord miraculously opened the door and gave us stewardship of this amazing property in 2015, in prayer I sensed the Holy Spirit saying, “If you build an altar of worship I will build the business and the ministry”. In the midst of all our busyness as innkeepers and ministry leaders I have been faithful to build that altar the last four years. I linger with the Lord in worship almost daily, often for hours. My music is graced with an anointing that touches hearts because each song was written with tears at the feet of The Savior. A set of traditional Christmas Carols will follow in a singalong celebration of the Redeemer’s birth.

Doors open at 6:00. The concert begins at 7:00. There is no charge but we ask everyone to bring a minimum $10 donation if at all possible. Sunday March 22, 2020 West Coast Country Folk Singer-Songwriter Dan Weber

This incredible artist performed at River Spring last summer during our charity lawn concert series. As soon as he finished his set and put down his guitar I asked him when he could come back. He is not only a great entertainer but Carolyn and I enjoyed hanging out with him before he left. Trust me. You do not want to miss this show. Check out his promo video here

Tuesday April 7, 2020 Nashville Singer Songwriter Jeff Miller

I am so grateful that Jeff will be with us for another concert. He is a Berkley grad, a great songwriter, guitarist, an amazing looper and a really nice guy. He is the modern definition of a “One Man Band”. David

Friday April 24th 2020 The Amazing Southern Folk Rock Troubadour Rod Abernathy

Wow! Am I ever glad I found this man in our network of performing artists but more importantly that he agreed to come and put on a show for us here. My 71st birthday is April 26th but I will be celebrating it early as Rod plays!  David

“Rod Abernethy’s album The Man I’m Supposed To Be is a tour de force for this multi-talented singer/artist.” MAVERICK – The Leading Independent Country Music Magazine – July/August 2018

“Imagine what would happen if you musically crossed the iconic guitar chops of Leo Kottke and John Fahey with the prophetic and immensely appealing songs of Bob Dylan and Tom Waits. Rod fits that bill. While consistently putting his very unique artistry out there, one can hear distinct echoes of these truly significant artistic forces. To my ears, Rod joins that group in very rare air, all of whom have kept meaning in melodies and a kind of prescient skill in lyrics. If you have a chance to see and hear Rod Abernethy live, don’t miss it.” Bob Hinkle, owner/manager – The White Horse, Black Mountain NC

Spring 2020 TBD Nashville’s My One and Only “Southern-Soul and Curious-Grit”

Emotionally-honest lyrics accompanied by raw vintage guitars and the intimate harmonies that only life-long lovers could discover. My One And Only reaches into the expanses of their hearts to bring up lyrics that will cause you to wonder if they have been reading your diary. Not only have they toured throughout America, but My One And Only has done two tours in Uganda, Africa, working in conjunction with a ministry there to produce youth conferences that incorporate music concerts, Bible teaching sessions and youth training. Their heart for broken families and orphaned children comes to light in their songwriting and in their between-song stories during live performances.
